The IWC of Vijayawada DIVAS organized an inspiring program focused on womens empowerment through sustainable farming practices. The session was designed to highlight the importance of growing native vegetables and greens at home, both for personal use and as a means of generating income.
During the talk, experts shared insights on:
The benefits of cultivating native plants and their role in ecological balance
Practical guidance on home gardening and organic farming trends
How women can commercialize surplus yield to create small-scale business opportunities
To put this knowledge into action, we distributed over 40 varieties of native vegetable and greens seeds to villagers, encouraging them to begin their own kitchen gardens. This initiative not only promoted self-sufficiency but also introduced opportunities for entrepreneurship among women in the community.
The event concluded with the distribution of local snacks and drinks, creating an atmosphere of learning, sharing, and fellowship.
