Emerald Jubilee Celebrations

16^th November 12:15 noon: Esme’ Emerald Jubilee of IWC Vijayawada:

The entrance foyer had a posters exhibition of the excellent projects undertaken by the clubs in the District. It was a meticulous display of the efforts of the clubs in the cause of Inner Wheel. Buffet lunch was provided in the banquet hall for the 248 Inner Wheel members who attended the event.

Photo session with the IIW President and the other honoured guests was conducted for all the 25 clubs. The host club members draped in emerald green silks were a feast to the eye.

The main event held in the conference hall began with the recital of the Philippines National Anthem followed by the Indian National Anthem.

Welcome with a ring dance by JYN Ambika enthralled the audience

Next was lighting the lamp with the traditional prayer sung by D. Kalyani.

The dignitaries were called on to the dais and DC Sita Devi gave the opening remarks.

MG Awardee and the convenor of the 55^th Anniversary Celebrations PDC G Rashmi Samaram warmly welcomed the colourful gathering. PDC V Sridevi introduced the Association President followed by Dr. Surjit Kaur’s befitting message. PDC Y Padmaja introduced the IIW Treasurer Sarita Lunani who conveyed her message in her unique style with clever anecdotes.

IIW President Zenaida Farcon’s illustrious introduction was given by PDC Y Manjula. The Chief Guest extolled the infinite value of the exquisite emerald vis-á-vis IWC Vijayawada and its immense contribution to society in its journey of 55 years. She presented Club President Kiranmayi with an IW pin and flag.

‘Zing with Zeny’, a lively chat show with IIWP Zenaida Farcon was conducted by IIWT Sarita Lunani. The audience enjoyed the witty repartee.

The Jubilee Souvenir was presented for release by PDC Y Manjula and the IWC Vijayawada Website by PDC J Maniprabha. The IIW President graciously performed both the honours. The dignitaries were highly impressed with the work of PDC J  Maniprabha and her expertise in computers.

A portrait of President Zenaida was made by IWC Vijayawada member Reshma Jelly and the painting was presented to the chief guest. A history of IWC Vijayawada was recounted by PDC G Sakala after which a documentary of the club was screened.

Margarette Golding Awardee PDC G Rashmi Samaram was honoured for being the recipient of such a coveted, prestigious award by the four dignitaries.

PDC Y Manjula received the Honoured Active Member pin from the IIW President after which the District and club members felicitated her.

The Master of Ceremonies for the occasion were PP B Nagaprasuna and PP B Sujatha who compered the entire proceedings smoothly.
