The first zonal meet of the year, Mélange, hosted by District 326 at the sacred coastal town of Puri, was a grand success in every sense. The event commenced with the inauguration of Neelachal Hatt, followed by vibrant flag exchanges and a creative display of Srujana. The inaugural session was dignified, featuring addresses by AP Jyoti Mahipal, IPIIWP Mamta Gupta, and Odisha’s Hon. Speaker Mrs. Surama Padhy.
Two remarkable speakers made a lasting impression:
• Ambassador Deepak Vohra, former diplomat, delivered a keynote address full of insight and inspiration.
• Dr. Sruti Mohapatra, a woman achiever who overcame physical challenges, moved the audience with her powerful story.
Day two began with a beach carnival, street play on organ donation, and a scooter rally for women empowerment — embodying the spirit of Inner Wheel service and awareness. Amidst this, there was time for Puri Jagannath Darshan, a stroll along the lovely beach, meeting friends old and new, and of course, shopping at the vibrant local stalls.
Melange – East Zone meet The cultural bonanza, performances by districts, and the celebration of Friendship Day added joy and colour to the event.
Overall, the East Zone Meet was a fitting and inspiring start to the zonal gatherings of 2025-26, with excellent organisation by DC Madhusmita Tripathy and her team.
